What is a Statement of Work (SOW)?

A Statement of Work is a contract between Fundriver and a client to perform customizations on a client database.  These customizations might include changes to functionality, changes to the user interface, or the addition of custom reports. Functionality and reporting that differs from the “out of the box” Fundriver product is considered a billable project, and the contract (SOW) will outline the work that is to be completed, the rate, and the timeframe for completion.

How is a Statement of Work initiated?

A SOW is usually initiated when a client requests a database customization or custom report.  When a Fundriver agent identifies a support request that involves a customization of this type, they will notify the client that a Statement of Work will need to be drafted.  At that point, a document is delivered to the client that includes the scope of work and a cost estimate. Before Fundriver can begin on the customization request, the SOW must be signed by the client and returned to Fundriver.

SOWs are typically needed for these types of projects because the work involved goes above and beyond what is covered in the client subscription agreement.

Client Sign Off on a Statement of Work

At Fundriver, we are committed to providing you with the highest quality product and service we can, and we want you to be 100% satisfied with any change that is made to how your database functions.  We will work closely with you to ensure that your billable project deliverable meets your expectations.  Fundriver will not bill you until you have reviewed the changes to your database (or reports) and agree they are functioning as expected.  This sign off is obtained through the client ticket in which the initial request was submitted.
